Frank Ocean Announces International Tour Dates, Confirms Splendour 2013 Sideshows

Frank Ocean has announced the dates for his international tour, “California Live.”

Criss-crossing 14 cities, the tour hits Munich on June 25 then moves through select European dates and festivals before a July 28 concert at Australia’s 2013 Splendour in the Grass Festival in Byron Bay.

Two sideshow dates in Melbourne and Sydney have also been announced via a new website You’re Not Dead that has just surfaced online along with familiar artwork.

Ocean will also co-headline Drake’s 4th annual OVO Fest the day after his tour wraps on August 3.

The singer-songwriter is currently working on his followup to the much lauded Channel Orange 2012 debut, which saw him win two awards at the 55th Annual Grammys: Best Urban Contemporary Album and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.

Of his sophomore album, Ocean told Billboard that he was “knee-deep in the next record. [I’m] just taking my time with it.”

As ToneDeafreports, Channel Orange debuted at #2 on the US Billboard Chart and UK Albums Chart, hit the #9 spot on the ARIA Charts and was eventually certified Gold in all three countries.

The 25-year-old won the International Male Artist 2013 gong at the UK’s BRIT awards, the Soul Train Album of the Year award and the MTV Award for Man of the Year.

Topping up his year of acclaim, Time Magazine named Ocean in its annual list of the 100 Most Influential People and he was hailed as Person of the Year at the 2013 Webby Awards, who noted:

“Frank Ocean has had truly remarkable, impactful year as both a musician and cultural icon, showing a deep understanding of the Internet as a communicative tool for social change.”

Notably, the singer came out as gay in a Tumblr post headed “Thank You’s” last July.
