Chief Keef Arrested For Driving 110 MPH In A 55 MPH Zone

Chicago rapper Chief Keef was arrested earlier this week after he was caught speeding in Northern Illinois.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Keef, whose real name is Keith F. Cozart, was stopped at 3:45am Monday on northbound Interstate 94 after being clocked driving 110 mph in a 55 mph zone.

Police said in addition to breaking the speed limit, Keef also had 3 passengers in his 2011 BMW X6 M — a violation of his drivers permit which only allows one other passenger.

Keef was taken into police custody, and charged with speeding and violating his permit.

He is due in court June 17.

Keef’s speeding incident wasn’t his only run-in with the law in the month of May.

Exactly one week ago, the rapper was arrested for disorderly conduct for smoking marijuana in a hotel room in Atlanta.

After the incident, Keef claimed that he was a victim of racism.

“So me and my homie Tray Savage was in the hotel room chillin’ when some fat ass security guard started knocking on the door talking about he needed to fix a water leak,” Keef explained to TMZ at the time. “So his ass walked in and started looking around at us and immediately gave me the racist look then started talking sh– to me.”

TMZ later spoke with the security guard who denied the allegations of racism, noting that he was just doing his job since possessing marijuana is illegal in the state of Georgia.

In addition to his recent arrests, Cozart also remains on probation in Illinois stemming from an incident in 2011 in which he pulled a gun on a police officer.
