Kings Of Leon Discuss New Album

Kings Of Leon bassist Jared Followill has been discussing their new album whilst partaking in a question and answer session on Twitter.

Followill revealed a few details about their upcoming sixth studio album, which is the follow up to 2010’s, Come Around Sundown.

One fan asked if the album will sound like earlier Kings Of Leon albums, to which Jared Followill responded, “Not really. There are definitely elements of it. Songs. Not as a whole though. It’s a culmination of them.”

He was then asked which of the band’s eras would the new record sound like, to which he stated, “Vibe/feeling could be compared to the first couple. It’s much more musically complicated though, so I’d have to say the last 2.”

The youngest member of the band did fail to state which of the new songs was his favorite, saying, “The ones I’m most proud of are the hardest to play. So it’s hard to say.” He also found the time to reveal that his stripper name would be, “The [sic] called me Liberty Bell in high school. So probably that.”

In March, Jared Followill stated that the band had finished recording the album and also revealed a little more behind the process, noting, “I thought we were going to make a really mature album but I’m amazed how youthful it sounds. It’s little a mix of Youth & Young Manhood and Because Of The Times.” Previously he had confided that information about the atmosphere whilst recording the LP, stating, “We’re just trying to have fun with it and just have a relaxed-type thing.”

Kings of Leon’s previous albums have included, 2003’s, Youth & Young Manhood, 2004’s, Aha Shake Heartbreak, 2007’s, Because of the Times, 2008’s Only by the Night, which featured their monster hit single, “Sex On Fire,” and 2010’s Come Around Sundown.
