Car Crash In O.C. Kills 5 Teens


Five teens were killed on Monday in a fiery crash in Orange County.

The O.C. crash occurred on Jamboree Road and Island Lagoon Drive at about 5:30 on Monday afternoon. All 5 teens in the car were killed in the crash.

According to CBS Los Angeles, an Infinity carrying 5 teenagers crashed into a tree new Newport Beach. Four of the people were ejected from the car during the crash while the fifth was partially ejected from the vehicle. The car was completely engulfed in flames by the time police arrived on the scene.

Newport Beach Fire Department Cpt. Glenn White said: “It was one of the worst I’ve seen in my nearly 30 years.”

Four of the teenagers were pronounced dead at the scene while one passenger was transported to the Mission Viejo Hospital. Sadly, the person was pronounced dead before arriving at the hospital.

The identities of the victims have not been released but police did say that the crash involved three young women and two young men from Irvine, California.

The cause of the crash has not been determined. Police do not know if the vehicle was speeding or if alcohol was involved in the crash at this time. Residents in the area said that cars due tend to speed on the 55 mph stretch of road where the crash occurred.
