Robert Lewandowski Set To Join Bayern Munich

Robert Lewandowski is set to join Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich in the summer, according to his agent.

The Champions League winners continue their raid on Borussia Dortmund after securing the services of Mario Gotze for €37 million ($48 million).

Bayern manager Jupp Heynckes hinted that the Polish international’s arrival was imminent after the 2-1 victory over Dortmund in the final on Saturday at Wembley.

“We all know that Mario Gotze will be joining us and I don’t think Lewandowski will be hanging around too much longer,” he revealed.

And Lewandowski’s representative echoed that sentiment on Monday, saying that a move to Bayern Munich is all but a done deal at this point.

“There is no point in pretending that he will not move to Bayern,” Cezary Kucharski said. “Robert wants to leave and that is what will happen.

“It’s a matter of time, it could be done within a week or within two to three weeks. We are waiting for a signal from the club. We are working on this deal.”

Lewandowski had a breakout season for Borussia Dortmund, scoring 10 goals in Europe’s most prestigious club competition, including four in the semifinals against Real Madrid.

He found the back of the net 24 times in the Bundesliga and has blossomed into one of the best players in Germany.

The 24 year old striker is ready to move on to bigger and better things, according to Kucharski.

“Robert needs a new challenge,” his agent said. “He needs other people around him, a new coach and new motivation.

“For us it’s clear but we have not signed anything.”

A slew of other top European clubs are courting the Polish star but it looks as if he will stay in the Bundesliga and join Dortmund’s rivals.

Do you agree with Robert Lewandowski’s desire to join Bayern Munich or should he stay with Borussia Dortmund for another season?
