Burlesque Performer Killed In Chain Reaction Accident That Injures 10 More

A burlesque performer was killed in an early morning Sunday chain reaction auto accident that has left 10 others injured — including her husband, who is reportedly still in a coma.

Sarah Klein, better known under her stage name Sparkly Devil, was a passenger in the car that her 43-year-old husband Paul Radilla was driving.

The 36-year-old Sparkly Devil was based in the San Francisco area and was the founding member of the Hubba Hubba Revue.

According to a preliminary report in SF Gate, Klein wasn’t wearing a seat belt. The couple’s Honda spun out of control and ended up in the wrong lane before being hit by a party bus. Two other cars then collided with the accident scene.

Eight people from the party bus were taken to area hospitals, and the bus driver himself later sought treatment, but their injuries ranged from minor to moderate.

Radilla himself is in critical condition. At the time of writing, California Highway Patrol is still investigating, and no one has been arrested.

There’s a report that the couple had been drinking earlier in the evening, but CHP doesn’t know yet if they were impaired.

Friends and colleagues stressed Sparkly Devil’s ability to reach out to other performers in the burlesque community. Her death leaves a vacuum that won’t be quickly filled.
