Obama Forgets Salute At Marine One, Sheepish President Quickly Returns [Video]
As Obama forgets to salute a marine, the internet is already abuzz with the President’s latest faux pas.
As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Obama forgetting to salute the marine stationed at Marine One occurred merely a week before the Obama Marine umbrella “scandal” that had everyone talking.
The story goes that President Obama had a U.S. Marine hold an umbrella over his head during a speech. The debate was over a U.S. Marine Corps policy banning umbrella holding. Uniform regulations state that a male Marine cannot hold an umbrella while wearing his uniform. The President also broke tradition in February of 2009 when Obama shook hands with the marine stationed outside Marine One.
Obama forgetting to salute the marine does not break any regulations but the Presidential salute is tradition started by former President Ronald Reagan in 1981:
“[Reagan] consulted the Marine Corps commandant on whether saluting back was appropriate. Marines themselves are taught not to do so out of uniform, and Winfrey raised the obvious point: Presidents, in suits and ties, aren’t wearing uniforms. But as commanders in chief, they’re in charge, and according to the advice Reagan got, supersede the protocol.”
The quick turnaround by President Obama after forgetting probably indicates he’s sensitive to any criticism. Obama’s approval ratings are high despite the Benghazi, IRS, AP, and Fox News scandals, so perhaps he doesn’t need to worry overmuch.
Still, as Obama forgets to salute at Marine One, Twitter users are forgetting their manners and calling for Obama’s impeachment:
Obama fails to salute Marine. Obama has Marine hold umbrella. Obama let's Navy seals die in Benghazi. He is a terrible leader. #vet #impeach

As Obama forgets to salute the marine, should we Americans be insulted or forgive a minor breaking of recent Presidential tradition?
