Lauren Conrad Debuts Bangs, Insists They’re Real

Lauren Conrad has bangs — and they’re for real.

The reality star brought her hair dilemma to Twitter followers earlier in the week, asking them if she should ditch her famous beachy blonde waves and try out bangs instead.

“With @Kristin_Ess and flirting with the idea of Bardot bangs… Thoughts?” the former Hills star tweeted, referring to her friend, celebrity hairstylist Kristin Ess.

It didn’t take her long to decide. On Wednesday, Lauren Conrad Instagrammed a selfie with new long bangs and the caption “bow bow bang bang @kristen_ess.”

The picture sparked a discussion over whether Conrad’s bangs were real or if they were clip-ons, like the one Kim Kardashian wore in December. But a rep for the fashion icon insisted that yes, Lauren’s bangs are indeed real.

Conrad had been known for her style, but never tried bangs before.

“My style is definitely California, but I tend to go a little girlier,” Conrad told Us Weekly in March. “I tend to gravitate towards a classic button-down, a clean denim.”

Lauren Conrad made another big life decision recently, purchasing a $3.7 million home in Los Angeles. The 4,300 square foot Brentwood estate comes with five bedrooms and six bathrooms. The home, designed by Flipping Out star Jeff Lewis, also has a remodeled kitchen, a basketball court, and a spacious backyard. She is now Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts, and Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady.

Lauren’s recent hair change isn’t the first experiment she’s done with her locks. On a recent trip to India she particpated in the annual Holi festival, which celebrates the arrival of spring. During the festival people throw brightly-colored paint at one another, which for Lauren meant bright pink hair.

“Looks like I’m sporting pink locks for the rest of this trip,” Lauren wrote on Instagram. She included pictures of her unexpected dye job.

Apparently Lauren Conrad made a good decision with her bangs. Her Instagram picture has more than 70,000 likes so far.
