‘Teen Mom 3’ To Premiere In August [Report]


A new installment of Teen Mom will be premiering on MTV this August.

The stars of Teen Mom 3 arrived in New York City Monday, May 20, to do promotional work for the series. The new cast was reportedly filming after-show segments with Maci Bookout, who was on all four seasons of the original Teen Mom. Incidentally, the name “Maci,” as well as the name of her son, Bentley, showed the greatest increase in frequency from 2010 to 2011, according to the Social Security Administration.

MTV hasn’t set an official premiere date just yet, but a recent report claims that it will after shortly after Teen Mom 2 ends.

Teen Mom 3 will follow four of the teenage mothers from the fourth season of 16 and Pregnant: 19-year-olds Alexandria Sekella, Briana DeJesus, and Katie Yeager, and 18-year-old Mackenzie Douthit. Teen Mom Confidential reports that the show will premiere toward the end of August and will take over Teen Mom 2‘s 10 pm Monday time slot.

Each episode of 16 and Pregnant followed a different girl, who was usually 4 and a half to 8 months into her pregnancy. The episode typically ended a few months after the baby was born.

Douthit was featured in the first episode — she was a cheerleader from Miami, Oklahoma, who gave birth to a baby boy by C-section. Yeager, who is from Rocky Springs, Wyoming, and gave birth a to daughter with her live-in boyfriend.

DeJesus was from Orlando, and her ex-boyfriend was disitnerested in her pregnancy. She gave birth a to a baby girl. Sekella was an aspiring dancer from Allentown, Pennyslyvania, whose mother wanted her to give the baby up for adoption or else she wouldn’t have a place to live. Her episode ran 90 minutes and ended with her having financial and housing problems because of her decision to keep the baby, a daughter.
