A well known pastor in Virginia was arrested this week after two warrants connected him to Fort Worth child sexual assaults from the 1990s.

According to NBC12, pastor Geronimo Aguilar from the Richmond Outreach Center was taken into custody at his Richmond, Virginia home Tuesday on charges filed by Fort Worth police.

The 43-year-old Aguilar, known to his congregation as “Pastor G,” faces two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child under 14.

The women are now in their 20s but were underage at the time of the alleged incidents.

The alleged crimes took place in 1996 and 1997 in Texas, reports the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

The charges are felonies in Texas and could carry five and 99 years in prison as well as up to a $10,000 fine if Aguilar is convicted.

Pastor Aguilar founded the Richmond Outreach Center in 2001. It quickly caught on and was even named one of the fastest growing churches in America.

The ROC outgrew its Warwick Road space in 2008 and moved into a new home. Finished in 2009, the church says 11,000 worship here each week.

Update: Prosecutors in Texas have now formally charged Richmond Outreach Center Pastor Geronimo “G” Aguilar with seven felony counts in two child sex abuse cases.

Those charges are first degree felonies that could carry life in prison.

Pastor G also faces three counts of sexual assault of a child from the two alleged incidents. Those charges are second degree felonies that could carry up to 20 years in prison.

Aguilar must now report to Texas authorities by Friday at 4:30 pm.

    well, well, well…so much for pedophilia being ONLY A CATHOLIC PROBLEM! Goddamned H Y P O C R I T E fake "pastors"!

Another Pastor bites the dust. @Michael using Gods name in vane is not quite appropriate for this forum. Evidently you only pay attention to Catholic priests. This is not the first time a pastor from a different religion has been caught

criminals have been evident in the CHristian faith since the beginning of the bible…(saul aka Paul) was a murderer but then the holy spirit moved in him and became one of Jesus' biggest followers….not saying his crimes should go unpunished but perhaps the holy spirit moved in this man and he changed his life…. it is a possibility after all…

Aguilar, known as "Pastor G," was transported from police custody in Richmond to Richmond International Airport on Friday morning. He is expected to be extradited to Texas on seven charges that, if convicted, could mean he'll spend the rest of his life in prison.

And Please don't call this guy a christian. He is at best a con man, who happened to use Church as part of his shtick! His entire testimony is fake, and his real name is Gerald Scott Light. He changed it at 19 when he came up with the whole scam. He surrounded himself with fellow criminals and has destroyed hundreds and hundreds of families, marriages and lives. We know of at least 20 affairs over the last 6 yrs alone. Wives, a fellow pastor's wife, daughters etc etc. More and more will come out, and when it does the big question will be how did city/govt officials miss this.

Let the law be served to protect the innocent and let it be known to all that the "truth" always comes out. God uses all kinds of men to accomplish his will. Good and bad. My heart goes out to the hundreds of children who looked up to this man-the father they never had and the only positive example of a good man they had in their life. For anyone who takes pleasure in seeing the destruction of the ROC then go and look up all the good works that this ministry accomplished, the lives it changed, and the hearts it turned. The man who could have robbed you, the kid who would have dropped out and entered a gang, the single mom who would have given up, the homeless man who thought nobody cared. It breaks my heart people. It breaks my heart.

@Buddy Laughlin No, his real name is actually Geronimo Aguilar. I grew up in his father's church, Set Free Ministries. His father also has children with names like Chill and Hebrew.
