John Daly arrested for being drunk outside a Hooters

Former golf great John Daly was arrested on the weekend after police found him drunk outside a Hooters Restaurant in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Daly’s condition first came to the attention of police after paramedics were called to the Hooters restaurant after Daly passed out. When police arrived, they found Daly drunk and unwilling to go to hospital. Daly was charged with disorderly conduct and held in jail for 24 hours to “sober up.”

Daly has a long history with the bottle, crashing to personal lows after winning two majors in the 1990s. He had apparently straightened himself out at one stage, but it looks like the demon drink got the better of him.

It’s just sad. Such an immense waste of talent.

As a journalist, I would expect a more professional writing style. You should never chose a side, your job is to be non-bias and objective. Your last comment kills every bit of credibility that you have. Learn to write.

  2. Tyler, this is a blog. We give opinions, and in this case the opinion is more than justified (and considerably light given what others have written). I've never pretended to be non-biased and objective, although we occasionally are. My credibility as a blogger is not tarnished in the least by this post, and your comment really just highlights why old media is dying. But to be fair (and objective) journalists aren't all as clueless and dumb as you clearly are.

PS: I know how to write. I even hard a degree in it, although unlike yours, mine was called Marketing, you know, the thing that sells stuff, as opposed to ritual suicide, the process newspapers are going through ;-)
