Ex-NBA Player Stabbed But Will Survive, Says Brawl Was ‘Just A Regular Dispute’ [Report]

An ex-NBA player was stabbed multiple times in a violent brawl outside a cafe in Belgrade, Serbia, but the tough-as-nails former Miami Heat guard reportedly now wants to know what all the fuss is about.

As The Inquisitr reported earlier, Predrag Danilovic — popularly known as Sasha — received multiple wounds in his stomach, head, and arms.

Although the fight was reported as taking place early Saturday morning, you could just as well think of it as happening late Friday night. It occurred after a late dinner out with friends.

According to Niki Bakouli for Eurohoops, a guest nicknamed Fido threw a bottle in Danilovic’s face. His report said that the ex-NBA player tried to brush it off at first:

“You are the first man who is doing something like this to me in my life, but I know you are drunk, so I forgive you and I hope this ends here.”

However, the quarrel only broke briefly. About an hour later, Fido and Sasha brawled on the street, leading to the multiple stabbing.

The tattooed ex-NBA player is grayer now, but he’s apparently still pretty tough. He was rushed to the hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.

Multiple media sources reported that he was in serious condition. An English-language Serbia news source said that he is now stable.

Although he played only two seasons in NBA basketball for the Miami Heat, Predrag Danilovic built on his fame and is currently president of the the Basketball club Partizan Belgrade.

Danilovic’s friends told Bakouli that Danilovic has regained consciousness but doesn’t understand what all the fuss is all about.

“‘Why everyone is writing about this thing? It was just a regular dispute,'” he reportedly said.

Let’s wish Danilovic a speedy recovery. The ex-NBA player stabbing could have been more serious.
