Daft Punk Collaborator Romanthony Dies, Friends Mourn On Social Media


Anthony Moore, better known to his fans by the stage name Romanthony, has died.

The house producer’s death was confirmed in a Facebook post by his sister Mellony Moore. The producer’s death was announced on May 9.

While Romanthony had spent years working on his own music as a renowned DJ, he is best known for appearing in the Daft Punk smash hit One More Time in 2000. Romanthony provided the vocal tracks for the smash hit Daft Punk song.

Boys Noize upon learning about his friends death took to Twitter where he tweeted:

“It is so sad ? Romanthony and me were working on such an amazing song together. he said it was the best song he had ever written :(.”

Taking to Facebook, Eve Angel (Daone Remmidy) wrote:

“Our Music Industry has lost yet another pioneer and music legend. I am deeply saddened to Announce the Passing our my Label Owner, Producer, Manager, and Family. Our Beloved World Renowned DJ and Producer Romanthony has passed away. What a great run we had Roman gave me my first break into the Music Industry and introduced me to the world, as Eve Angel. We were working on an amazing project. I will miss him and he will forever remain in my heart. We had a 20 year stint together and he will never be forgotten.”

The Daft Punk collaborator passed away at his home in Austin, Texas on May 7.

Moore first released an album under the name Romanthony in 1997. His debut album titled Romanworld was followed up two years later with the album Instinct.

Romanthony also collaborated on the Discovery album track “Too Long.”
