Summer Glau may be returning to television with news that she’s landed a major role playing a blogger in a new pilot for NBC.
Glau will play the blogger “Orwell” in The Cape, a new series that centers “on a framed-for-murder ex-cop (David Lyons) who becomes a costumed crimefighter to clear his name” according to Aint It Cool News, “As with the movie “Kick-Ass,” nobody has any superpowers.”
Yeah, the story doesn’t sound great, a premise the script leaks at Bleeding Cool would seem to back.
Glau’s role will focus on her “exposing crimes even the police can’t solve” as an anonymous blogger, who we presume may also be a romantic interest for the shows main character.

Glau will play Orwell, a cute and intrepid investigative blogger who fearlessly goes after corrupt cops and costumed bad guys. For those of us accustomed to Glau kicking butt and taking names, we’re assured there’ll be plenty of that as well.
