During the month of February Microsoft’s Xbox 360 took the top sales prize, a fact that has probably left Sony and Nintendo teams scratching the their heads over the consoles first big jump in quite a while.
It’s the first time in two years that the Xbox 360 has taken the top prize and it occurred during a rather abysmal sales month across all platforms.
Here are the sales numbers
- Xbox 360: 422,000
- Nintendo Wii: 397,900
- Sony PS3: 360,100 – A 30% improvement year on year.
While the numbers might be making Microsoft happy (it’s the consoles best month ever), actual sales revenues in February were down 15% compared to the same time period in 2009. [Engadget]
