‘Endorsed By Jesus’ Candidate Comes In Dead Last [Video]

Miami, FL – A mayoral hopeful who claimed she was endorsed by Jesus Christ has lost her bid for office. In a strange spiritual twist, she also came in dead last.

Anna Pierre, a North Miami woman, boasted that she was endorsed by Jesus for the mayorship, but apparently Jesus decided to go another way (and took the voters with him). Tuesday’s returns showed Pierre in dead last.

The top two hopefuls were Kevin Burns and Lucie Tondreau, who advanced to a June 4 election together to decide who will be mayor. Former mayor Burns got 33 percent of votes in Tuesday’s election while Tondreau has 27 percent according to elections department results.

Pierre, a registered nurse, came in last among the seven candidates with just 56 votes, or.83 percent. She had famously claimed to be endorsed by Jesus during her campaign.

“Yes, Jesus endorsed me!” Pierre said Tuesday morning during an election stop. “I’m not nuts, if I’m a freak and nuts for Jesus, let it be! Let the world know that Jesus is it and when you have Jesus on your side you can go on.”

The “endorsed by Jesus” claim earned Pierre quite a bit of buzz, and she definitely pushed it as far as it could go if her Facebook campaign page is any indication. “Anna Pierre, RN, is endorsed by Jesus Christ” reads one campaign flyer with a photo of Christ.

She said that she knew she had almighty backing when she had a revelation while on the campaign trail.

“I don’t know about if he likes me more, but what I can tell you, I know he loves me very much,” Pierre said. “If it wasn’t for the love of Jesus I wouldn’t be standing here today.”

Maybe God just thought that Burns and Tondreau were just more qualified. No hard feelings, we’re sure.

Do you think that political candidates are ever “endorsed by Jesus?”
