Vin Diesel recently posted a picture of his ride in a jeepney on Facebook.

In case you were wondering, a jeepney is a popular means of public transportation in the Philippines. They are considered to be a symbol of art and culture in the region.

Diesel paid a visit to Global City in Taguig while promoting his upcoming action flick Fast and Furious 6. Since the busy actor has around 41 million followers on Facebook, it didn’t take very long for the Facebook photo to go viral.

As of this writing, over 350,000 thousand people have liked the photo. What’s even more impressive is that almost 20,000 followers have shared the picture of Vin Diesel in the jeepney with their friends.

The Riddick star recently discussed his success on Facebook with the folks at Entertainment Weekly. Diesel attributes his popularity to the fact that he jumped on the site in 2009, not too long before it became what it is today. At the time, the only person who had as many friends as Diesel was President Obama.

“What Facebook didn’t realize is something very big was about to happen, and that was — for the first time in history, and it’s kind of a fluke they didn’t see this coming — when I jumped on that page in April 2009, I started talking to people. In the realest ways,” he explained to the publication.

Connecting with fans apparently worked out great for Vin Diesel; he is currently among the most popular celebrities on the entire site. The actor has used Facebook to release photos from his upcoming films, most notably Fast and Furious 6 and Riddick.

The actor has a number of projects currently in the works. He’s attached to The Machine at MGM and the upcoming big-screen adaptation of Kojak. Chances are any breaking news about the movies will be released on the guy’s Facebook page.
