Angie Everhart Diagnosed With Cancer, Receives Fan Support On Twitter
Actress and former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Angie Everhart has been diagnosed with cancer.
Although Everhart is currently scheduled to undergo surgery, her representative said in a statement that the prognosis is very good.
“Word has been trickling out about supermodel/actress Angie Everhart’s health. She wants to set the record straight by letting everyone know that it is true that she has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer, however, the prognosis is very good,” Angie Everhart’s rep said in a statement.
She added, “The most important reason she is revealing this information is to encourage people to learn about cancer prevention, its signs and treatment immediately. [Angie] wants to thank everyone who has heard about it and expressed their support.”
According to TMZ, longtime friend Gena Lee Nolin has been by Angie Everhart’s side through the ordeal. The actress explained that she’s learned a thing or two about who her “real friends” are during this ordeal.
“Anytime you have the big C put in front of you, you do a lot of reflecting on your life. You learn who your real friends are,” she explained to the website.
Everhart continued, “Sometimes in this town, you don’t know how people will react. My family and those friends who knew about it before it became public, have been wonderful. I am very grateful.”
Although the model has been worried about how people would react to her cancer diagnosis, many of the her fans on Twitter have sent well-wishes in the wake of the announcement.

Angie Everhart is scheduled to undergo thyroid cancer surgery later today (May 14).
