Canadian Parliament Adds Seal To The Menu
In a case sure to upset some all animal rights groups, the Canadian Government has added seal to the menu at the Canadian Parliament.
The move is part of an effort by the Canadian Government to fight an EU ban on seal product imports. The EU argues that clubbing baby seals to death is “cruel and inhumane.”
“All political parties will have the opportunity to demonstrate to the international community the solidarity of the Canadian Parliament behind those who earn a living from the seal hunt,” a spokesperson told Reuters.
For those fond of seals, the Parliament is offering double-smoked bacon-wrapped seal loin in a port reduction from Wednesday this week.
