‘RHOA’ Star Phaedra Parks Gives Birth To Second Child

Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks has given birth to her second child with husband Apollo Nida.

The entertainment lawyer welcomed another son into the world on May 8. A source close to Parks told Us Weekly, “Mom and baby are doing great.”

Parks originally planned to have a C-section at the end of May because she had been diagnosed with placenta previa. What that means is that the placenta was lying unusually low in the uterus, and if it were still too close to the cervix later in the pregnancy, it could lead to bleeding and early delivery. At this time, it is unclear what caused Parks to have her baby earlier than planned.

Even though this pregnancy wasn’t easy on her, Parks has said on a couple of occasions that she would like to have another child. It makes sense that the 42-year-old, who is now outnumbered by males three to one, would want her next child to be a girl.

“I would entertain a third child, but I would have to guarantee that it was a little girl. I think that would be plenty after that,” she said.

Parks and Nida’s first child, Ayden, was born in 2010. Parks called him “the light of my life” and said she and Nida “just adore him.” Her pregnancy was documented in the third season of RHOA, and included a lavish baby shower and a viewing party. Parks later confessed that she fudged the details surrounding Ayden’s conception because she didn’t want family members to know that she had gotten pregnant out of wedlock.

Parks and Nida were married in 2009 after meeting in 1996. They have released a workout DVD together titled Phine Body: Donkey Booty (which was competing with cast mate Kenya Moore’s Stallion Booty workout videos), and Parks is writing a book called Secrets of the Southern Belle. Like other real housewives, Parks also landed her own spin-0ff, tentatively titled Rich People’s Problems.

Congratulations to Phaedra and Apollo on their new addition.
