The first image of Ellen Page in X-Men: Days of Future Past has been released online.

The actress, who starred in X-Men: The Last Stand, will reprise her role as Kitty Pryde in director Bryan Singer’s follow-up to the deeply impressive X-Men: First Class.

Since the filmmaker isn’t afraid to share images and what-not with his countless Twitter follows, Singer decided to tease fans of the franchise with an image of Ellen Page on the set of the film. While the picture itself isn’t altogether exciting, it’s cool to see the actress back in the role.

In the Days of Future Past storyline, Kitty Pryde is essential to getting the proverbial ball rolling. However, it’s unclear just how faithful Bryan Singer’s big-screen adaptation will be in terms of the story. It’s also unknown how big of a role Page’s character will play in the feature.

Details about the sequel’s plot have been a closely-guarded secret for quite some time. The only thing officially released about the story is that it involves the heroes traveling through time to prevent a major historical event from taking place.

Kitty Pryde isn’t the first X-Men: Days of Future Past character that has been teased on Twitter. The acclaimed director has also treated fans to images of Professor X, Wolverine, Storm, Beast, and Iceman. Chances are Ellen Page’s image won’t be the last we’ll see before the film’s release.

The actress will be joined by a host of veteran X-Men for the latest outing. Included among the cast are Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Shawn Ashmore, Daniel Cudmore, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Booboo Stewart, Fan Bingbing, and Adan Canto.
