‘My Fair Wedding’ Divorce: David Tutera Splits From Husband

The honeymoon is over for My Fair Wedding host David Tutera.

The 47-year-old wedding planner and designer is divorcing his husband Ryan Jurica, citing irreconcilable differences. The two were married in 2003 in a large civil union ceremony in Vermont, where gay marriage is recognized. However, he couple filed to end their relationship in California, where they are domestic partners.

Jurica has filed his own legal documents in Connecticut, and is alleging that Tutera’s sexual appetite caused the split.

“After repeated attempts at marriage counseling and therapy, we have been unable to save our relationship due to [David’s] addiction to sex,” Jurica wrote. “[David] has engaged in a pattern of hiring sex escorts and prostitutes to support his addiction.”

Jurica is claiming Tutera has refused to seek help for his sex addiction.

Before ending their relationship, Tutera and Jurica hired a surrogate who is currently pregnant with twins and due to give birth in July. According to documents filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Tutera wants full legal and physical custody of the children, and will only give Jurica visitation. Tutera also reportedly doesn’t want to pay spousal support, but wants Jurica to pay the legal fees related to the split.

However, Jurica also wants full custody of the children, and is saying Tutera made all the money in the relationship. Jurica says he needs money for house and car payments and other expenses.

Jurica’s lawyer Bettina D. Hindin said Tutera is the one who ended the relationship, and that Jurica took it so hard, he had to check himself into an in-patient alcohol rehabilitation center. Jurica was arrested twice in the past five months, one for public intoxication and once for DWI.

David Tutera has been hosting My Fair Wedding since October 2008. The show is currently in its fifth season on WE tv, and 73 episodes have aired so far. The series was renewed for an eight-episode sixth season in March 2013, but the new season will not be limited to weddings. The title has also been changed to David Tutera Unveiled.
