More Boston Suspects Charged With Helping Dzhokhar Tsarnaev

More Boston suspects have been detained for helping Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, the Boston bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev will receive a Muslim funeral. The family will take possession of the body and perform the burial, although other Muslim mosques have refused to be involved with Tamerlan Tsarnaev even in death.

More Boston suspects were reportedly taken into custody today, but, at the time, all law enforcement would say is that more details would follow. Now the FBI has confirmed that two college-aged friends of bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19-year-olds Dias Kadyrbayev and Azamat Tazhayakov, allegedly attempted to destroy or conceal a laptop computer and a backpack containing fireworks belonging to Dzhokhar. They were originally detained April 20 on immigration charges.

Even more Boston suspects were found when 19-year-old Robel Phillipos, an American citizen, was charged with lying to federal law enforcement officers. All of the Boston bombing suspects have been charged with conspiring to obstruct justice and making false statements.

All three Boston bombing suspects will appear in court this afternoon to face their charges. If convicted, Kadyrbayev and Tazhayakov face up to five years in prison and Phillipos faces a maximum sentence of up to eight years in prison.

Tazhayakov and Kadyrbayev were classmates of Tsarnaev’s at UMass-Dartmouth. They drove around town together in the infamous car with the “Terrorista #1” vanity plate, which was a joke gift from friends.

While police consider these three more Boston suspects, there was no indication the three men had any prior knowledge of the plans for the Boston bombing. They allegedly recognized Dzhokhar from the FBI videos and went to the dorm to try and protect their friend. Reports say the “trio spotted a backpack containing fireworks that had been emptied of their explosive powder and decided to take it, sources said. They also took a laptop because they didn’t want to arouse the roommate’s suspicions about the backpack.”

With more Boston suspects found, how do you think police should proceed with the friends and family of the Tsarnaev brothers?
