Recall: Put down the Girl Scout Cookies and step away from the box

The bad news: there’s a recall going on of Girl Scout cookies that may have an “off” taste or smell.

The good news? It’s not any of the totally awesome ones like Samoas or Thin Mints. One of the upstart-type flavors, Lemon Chalet Creme Cookies, sparked the voluntary recall. Little Brownie Bakers, the manufacturers of Girl Scout Cookies, say an oil used in the cookies is “breaking down” and causing the unappetizing smell and or taste in some Lemon Chalet Cremes. However, it is believed the cookies don’t pose a health hazard if consumed.

Did you get hit up by the little darlings this year? If you purchased Lemon Chalet Cremes in your yearly Girl Scout Cookie stock-up, boxes with the following lot numbers are affected:

7455881, 7455882, 7455883, 7456741, 7456742, 7456743, 7457661, 7457662, 7457663, 7458521, 7458522, 7458523, 7459401, 7459402 and 7459403.

Customers who purchased the affected cookies are advised to contact Little Brownie Bakers in Louisville, Kentucky for information on the recall. You can call (800) 962-1718 or email the company at littlebrowniebakers@gmail.com.
