The Cost Of Sharing A Coffee With Apple CEO Tim Cook? $230,000 (And Rising)

Fancy having coffee and a chinwag with Apple CEO Tim Cook at Apple HQ?

Apparently, you’re not alone. A charity auction offering a 30 – 60-minute coffee date with Cook (valid for two people; maybe a spouse could chip in?) is currently on $230,000.

If you’re surprised by that figure, you are (again) not alone. Charitybuzz, which is hosting the auction, put an estimated value of $50,000 on the meeting. With 19 days still to go and 62 bids registered, the highest bid exceeds that by $180,000. All proceeds from the auction will go to the RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights.

Cook is pretty much as big as names get in the tech sector. As Apple CEO, he was named a runner-up in TIME‘s Person of the Year rankings and topped Vanity Fair‘s New Establishment list.

Before being appointed CEO in August 2011, Cook was Apple’s Chief Operating Officer, making him responsible for all of the company’s worldwide sales and operations.

He is, in other words, the biggest of bigwigs. Is he good coffee company though? We’ll never be able to afford to answer that question.

Oh, and if you are bidding for this, remember that accommodation and travel to Apple’s Cupertino HQ is not covered. Though if you’re blowing a quarter of a million on a Starbucks with a CEO, we expect you won’t care that much.

What would you ask Tim Cook if you had 60 minutes with Apple’s head honcho? Let us know in the comments!
