A familiar face may be returning to Real Housewives of Atlanta, just as one cast member is being told to exit.
Former RHOA star Kim Zolciak admitted that she has considered returning to the reality series, which she departed in the middle of its fifth season amid growing tension between her and her cast mates.
“I can’t say that I won’t return to Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Zolciak told Us magazine. “Housewives brings its own little spice.“ The mother of four also admitted that she misses her friendship with NeNe Leakes, with whom she has called a truce since their falling out on the series.
“We’re not best friends,” Zolciak said. “We just decided to just let the past be that. The reunion was a turning point –I started this whole journey with her five years ago.”
While she and Leakes may have buried the hatchet, the same can’t be said for Zolciak and Kandi Burruss, who recently sued the 34-year-old over the profits from the single “Tardy for the Party.” Zolciak’s spinoff, Don’t Be Tardy for the Wedding, which was later renamed Don’t Be Tardy… is named after the single.
“Kandi doesn’t have any ground to stand on,” Zolciak charges. “Her claim is so ridiculous.” Burruss claims she was never properly compensated for her work on the song. Burruss’ attorney and fellow cast member Phaedra Parks alleges that Burruss and her songwriter/producer Rodney “Don Vito” Richard wrote the song for Zolciak and that she sold the song “without [the] plaintiffs’ authorization, license or consent.” Burruss is also asking for a temporary restraining order to prevent future sales from the song.
If Zolciak does return to RHOA, she might end up replacing Parks. Parks, like many of her cast mates, will be getting her own spinoff series, tentatively titled Rich People’s Problems. Whether she will continue to do both shows is unclear at the moment, but there is at least one person who thinks Parks should leave RHOA — Wendy Williams.
Williams recently gave Parks an “F” for her antics this season. Williams questioned if it was Parks that Leakes was referring to when she said someone needed to leave the show.
“Phaedra, I think it should be you,” Williams said.
