Busy Philipps Baby: ‘Cougar Town’ Actress Expecting Another Daughter
Cougar Town actress Busy Philipps is having another girl!
Philipps, who announced her pregnancy via Twitter in mid-December, revealed her baby’s gender at the Case of You screening during the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City April 21.
“We’ve known for a long time, but I just haven’t had the occasion to tell. We’re having another girl,” she told Us Weekly. “We’re really excited.”
The baby-on-the-way is the second child for Philipps and screenwriter hubby Marc Silverstein. The couple, who married in 2007, welcomed their first child, Birdie Leigh Silverstein on August 13, 2008.
Birdie, who is now four, is reportedly more than excited about being a big sister.
“She’s been asking for at least a year: When’s her baby going to come?” Busy told US. “She talks to the baby and she’s just really thrilled. I told her though that it’s okay to feel two ways about it. It’s okay to feel really excited and also nervous or mad or scared.”
As for her second pregnancy, Philipps says it’s nothing like her first — which is not necessarily a good thing.
“This one hasn’t been so relaxing,” Busy told E!Online in March. “It’s harder and easier. It’s going faster because I have my kid and work and all kinds of things.”
Despite the difficulties she’s faced during her second pregnancy, Philipps says she makes it a priority to hit the gym multiple times a week in order maintain her body.
“I love the accolades when I leave,” she said of fellow cyclers being impressed with her maternity workout skills. “I love ’em!”
Busy Philipps is best known for her role as Laurie Keller in the television series Cougar Town, for which she won a Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series Critic’s Choice Television Award in 2011.
She also had supporting roles on the television series Freaks and Geeks and Dawson’s Creek in the early 2000s and, more recently, made guest appearances on Community and Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23.
