Nicole Eggert Hospitalized After ‘Splash’ Injury

Nicole Eggert was hospitalized after suffering an injury on the set of Splash.

The actress was reportedly injured after she attempted a high-dive on the reality television show. Instead of properly executing the dive, she landed on her back.

A source told TMZ that EMTs worked quickly to pull her out of the water following the botched dive. Although she didn’t break any bones when she hit the water, Nicole Eggert was hospitalized as a safety precaution.

Doctors were concerned that she may have suffered some sort of internal injury as a result of hitting the water on her back. Medical officials are particularly worried that she may have caused damage to her kidneys.

The incident occurred when the former Baywatch star attempted a dive which involved a number of flips. When she failed to execute the maneuver as instructed, she hit the water back-first.

Although Nicole Eggert was hospitalized following the accident, she has since been released from the hospital. It’s unclear if she will return to the show for future episodes.

This isn’t the first time a contestant on Splash has suffered an injury. Katherine Webb recently pulled out of the program after getting hurt while performing a dive.

“I went to the doctor and, unfortunately, he told me I’m out for the competition,” Webb said after announcing her departure from the show. Details about her injury weren’t immediately available.

Former Girls Next Door star Kendra Wilkinson also bailed out of the program after having an emotional meltdown while on the diving board.

“I’m so sorry, everybody,” she explained. “It’s bittersweet. One thing I don’t do is quit,” Wilkinson said. “This is the first time in my life I’ve quit something. This will haunt me for the rest of my life.”
