Katherine Webb Quits ‘Splash’ Due To Injury

Katherine Webb was forced to quit celebrity diving competition Splash due to an unspecified injury.

The 23-year-old said, “I went to the doctor and, unfortunately, he told me I’m out for the competition.”

The nature of Webb’s injury and how she sustained it were not immediately disclosed. Because of her sudden departure, Louie Anderson, who was eliminated from the competition in week 4, was brought back in for another shot. His second turn on the show, however, was short-lived.

In week 5, all of the divers had to jump from a 10-metter platform, which is the equivalent of a three-story building. Anderson jumped off the platform and plunged straight down into the pool, earning a 7.25, which tied him with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the second-lowest score of the night.

Brandi Chastain came in with a 4.75 for the lowest score of the night, but, with the audience vote also factored in, Anderson joined her in the bottom two. Instead of having to compete in a dive-off against the California Storm defender and midfielder, Anderson decided to withdraw.

“I know I have very little chance of winning this competition,” he said. “And I am going home, and I am going to defer to Brandi because she has a chance to win this competition.”

Anderson also wrote on Twitter that he was sad to see Webb have to leave.

Webb is the second person to quit Splash since the series premiered on March 19. Kendra Wilkinson quit the competition earlier this month after have a breakdown on the diving board.

“I’m so sorry, everybody … It’s bittersweet. One thing I don’t do is quit,” Wilkinson said. “This is the first time in my life I’ve quit something. This will haunt me for the rest of my life.”
