AT&T To Welcome Android OS On March 7th, Motorola Backflip First Candidate

Motorola Backflip - Google Android Phone for AT&T

AT&T may have been the big winner in the iPhone world, but they’ve fallen behind when it comes to selling Google Android based devices, not a good fact considering Google is selling 60,000 of their devices each day. To remedy the situation AT&T has officially announced their first Android Smartphone, the Motorola Backflip.

The Backflip will arrive on AT&T’s network come March 7th for a price of $100 with a two-year contract. The Backflip includes a 3.1 inch display, 5MP camera with flash and 3G data speeds on AT&T’s speedy 7.2 HSPA network. The Smartphone also features the MotoBlur UI, a backside touch panel and a D-Pad for quick one handed navigation.

Honestly, even $100 is a bit steep for the Backflip, if I was an AT&T customer I would be waiting for their first high end Android phone to come out before I jumped on the Android bandwagon. [Gizmodo]
