Tami Erin ‘Pippi Longstocking’ Star Says Alleged Roommate Assault Was Self-Defense

Tami Erin, the Pippi Longstocking child star arrested last week for assault on a male roommate, has had enough of the giggles, and she’s fighting back in the media and on Twitter. Saying that she’s in the San Francisco area to help her father, who had a stroke, she has thanked family and fans for their support after her well-publicized arrest by the Walnut Creek, California police.

In multiple tweets, she called the unnamed man’s assault claim “100% lies” and added, “The truth will come out.”

According to previous reports, someone heard Tami Erin arguing with the man and butted in to place her under “citizen’s arrest.” They held her until the police arrived.

Walnut Creek police then arrested her on Thursday night but released her Friday morning. The alleged victim had no visible injuries, and the DA is still reviewing the case. Hmm.

Thirty-eight-year-old Tami Erin’s career has been relatively quiet since her 1988 role in The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking, but she’s a well-known philanthropist who has raised funds for a great many charities including UNICEF, PETA, BuddhaBark Foundation, Best Friends Animal Society, and many more.

I wasn’t there, but I may as well admit that I’m inclined to give the apparently soft-hearted redhead the benefit of the doubt. I’m not a fan of two people piling on against one small woman even if they do call it a citizen’s arrest.

And if it’s the case of a creepy boyfriend taking advantage of her to film some X-rated footage, then I couldn’t serve on the jury because I could never find her guilty of going off on the jerk.

What do you think? I hope the truth about the arrest does come out for Pippi Longstocking lovely Tami Erin.
