Police Chief Accidentally Eats Daughter’s ‘Weed Cake’

An Ohio police chief was forced to seek medical attention after eating his daughter’s weed cake.

Laurelville Police Chief Mike Berkemeier said he was on the phone with his 16-year-old daughter when he realized he was very hungry. He decided to help himself to a slice of the yellow cake that happened to be sitting on the counter at the time.

The police chief didn’t realize that the treat had been prepared using weed oil. Berkemeier reportedly ate the entire cake. It was around this point that he began to feel very peculiar.

“I got up in the morning and I ate it. The entire thing. All I can describe it as is that it was the worst feeling in the world. I thought I was dying,” he explained to The Columbus Dispatch.

Since the problem didn’t seem to be getting any better, he hopped in his car and took a quick trip to the police station. After he explained the situation to his fellow officers, Berkemeier was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

It’s currently believed that a friend of Berkemeier’s 16-year-old daughter brought over the yellow cake during a sleepover. Since the police chief was unaware that the treat contained quite a bit of weed oil, he was soon feeling the effects of the drug.

The cake was left on the counter after the daughter was hospitalized following a car accident. The 18-year-old who baked the weed cake could face charges as a result. Prosecutor Laina Fetherolf described the case as “unusual.”

“It’s a little embarrassing for the chief. But it’s serious when someone can put drugs in food and leave it around. If it were LSD, the consequence would have been much more severe, both for the chief and legally,” Fetherolf explained.

What do you think about the police chief accidentally ate a weed cake? Do you think the person who baked the treat should be brought up on charges?
