‘Iron Man’: Disneyland Opens Tech Exhibit

Disneyland is opening their Iron Man Tech exhibit today.

The original Disneyland in Anaheim, California is opening an exhibit around the Marvel Comics superhero Iron Man. Of course, Disneyland in Hong Kong has an entire Marvel Comics section in the works, but we’re going to ignore that for now.

The superhero that Robert Downey Jr. made famous on the big screen is the focus of California’s latest exhibit opening this weekend. So why do the suits in the exhibit looks so much like the ones from the Iron Man movies? Because they are the same ones.

The official name for the exhibit at Disneyland is Iron Man Tech Presented by Stark Industries, and it’s located inside Innoventions in Tomorrowland.

The main draw is the display of the Hall of Armor, which includes every suit of Iron Man armor ever used in a film to date, with the newest one (Mark 42 from Iron Man 3) in front and the others from Iron Man, Iron Man 2 and The Avengers behind it, as well as that display you saw explode numerous times in the Iron Man 3 trailers. The draw of these suits is so massive that the last time they were displayed was at the quickly sold-out San Diego Comic Con.

Of course, what may make the draw of this display even bigger is that you can get a much closer view of the suits. You can literally walk right up to them and examine the details.

The next part of the Iron Man Tech exhibit at Disneyland is a Kinect-style game where the sensors make it look like the suit is flying into your body before going through a series of tests like in the first film. This isn’t quite ready yet, but it should be in a couple of weeks, and it will come with the chance to get photos of yourself in the suit, even with the mask open.

Who knows what else this exhibit might open up in the future?
