Google Mini Grows New Features

The Google Mini application for businesses is getting a major upgrade.

Google just announced the addition of four new features to the Mini:

  1. The ability to crawl and utilize shared servers.
  2. The ability to rank items within an intranet to give them higher or lower search weight.
  3. The ability to automatically detect the newer version of two similar documents and show it higher in a search.
  4. Added support for six new languages: Basque, Catalan, Galician, Greek, Hungarian, and Polish.

Google Mini gives businesses the Google search technology for their own internal and web-based data. It starts at just under $3,000 for the smallest version, though that seemingly steep price tag does include all hardware and software as well as two years of support.
