Michelle Williams On Daughter Matilda: ‘That’s My Main Project’

Michelle Williams debuted a brand new hairdo at Kate Young for Target party at the Old School. Not only that but the naturally reserved star opened up about her latest project, and it isn’t what you think.

Williams, who has taken a year hiatus from acting to focus more on her daughter, Matilda, has revealed that she’s not looking to get back on set anytime soon. The actress, who recently parted ways with boyfriend of a year, Jason Segel, told Paper mag that she is focusing on her daughter full time.

When asked if she had any side projects, Williams said:
“No, I wish I had side projects! I’m kind of like a “one thing at a time” girl. I can’t really take on [more]. I wish I was. I wish I was one of those people who’s also taking lots of photos. and going to cooking classes. But I just work and raise the kid. That’s all I can do.”

When suggesting that raising a kid was work, Williams agreed and continued to talk about her best project to date:
“It’s amazing, and it’s the ultimate creative act. That’s my side project and my center project. ”

Although it’s unknown when Michelle Williams will return to acting, her next project lined up is against Rust & Bone’s Matthias Shoenaerts in Suite Francaise. Suite Francaise is a film adaptation of the WWII novel, and is about a “French peasant girl falling in love with a German commander occupying her home.” When Williams returns to set it will be her first time since abandoning her Glinda crown.

Her absence from the big screen has been noticeable as this was this was the first year in quite some time that Williams wasn’t nominated for an Academy Award.
