Flipboard Hits Homerun With Personalized Magazines, Adds 3 Million New Users

Flipboard launched the ability to create personalized magazines just two weeks ago, and now the company has announced three million new users. Flipboard now serves more than 53 million users.

Flipboard revamped its network in late March, making it easier to create magazines, share stories with social networks, and discover content.

Every story on Flipboard now includes a “flip it” option, which allows Flipboard users to publish discovered stories to their personalized, topical magazines. Users can subscribe to magazines they like via their iOS and Android devices.

In numbers released by Flipboard, the company says more than 50 percent of all users now read personalized ‘zines on a daily basis. Some ‘zines have been created directly by publishers. For example, Rolling Stone and National Geographic operate some very popular publications.

Some of the most popular magazines come to us from industry leaders who publish their own reading lists for Flipboard users to enjoy.

The service sees a majority of its users at approximately 9:00 am daily with breaks taken for more reading at 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm.

As more users take to Flipboard, the importance of the platform shouldn’t be understated. With its beautifully designed interface and ease of use, more publishers are likely to create new ‘zines at breakneck speeds.

In the meantime, we will wait patiently for the “Flip it” button to show up and to start dominating the button share sector.

From niche readerships to mainstream publications, the Flipboard redesign has been a big success that doesn’t show any signs of slowing.

Have you started creating your very own personalized Flipboard ‘zines or following other personalized publications?
