Halo: Reach multiplayer beta kicks off May 3rd

News is coming out of Microsoft’s X10 event thick and fast, including word that the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta will start on May 3rd. The beta is open to anyone who owns a copy of Halo 3: ODST, with said game being used as a key to access the beta.

Halo: Reach, in case you didn’t know, takes place before the events of the very first Halo game (released in – wow – 2001). As a soldier under the command of the United Nations Space Command (UNSC), you’ll head out to kick Covenant ass. It’s more Halo, and it’s being made by series creator Bungie, so it’s probably going to be pretty damn stellar.

Microsoft reckons the Halo: Reach preview is “on track to be the largest beta program of its kind on any console, is expected to see millions of participants when it begins.” So there you go.
