[VIDEO] Alan Wake to release in May, new trailer revealed

While the PlayStation 3 has Heavy Rain, the Xbox 360 has its own psychological action thriller. Alan Wake was first announced in June 2005, but has finally received a concrete release date: May 2010. That’s a hell of a gestation period, but this is promising to be a gem; you can see the new trailer released today by scrolling down.

Also confirmed for the game is a Limited Collector’s Edition, because which game doesn’t have one of these nowadays? This appeared on Best Buy and Walmart’s sites, and promises a raft of lovely extras in exchange for $80. Incidentally, the game’s box is hardbound in linen, to resemble a hardcover book. Sweet. Open it and you should find:

* Game Disc in box with unique art
* Exclusive In-Game Audio Commentary and Hints by Remedy
* “The Alan Wake Files” – a 144 page book that includes a short story written by Alan Wake and compiles the FBI dossiers investigating the events in Bright Falls, WA
* Exclusive Audio Disc with Soundtrack and Score
* Game Add-on token redeemable on Xbox Live for the first Alan Wake add-on content pack
* Exclusive Xbox disc with special content: Alan Wake Xbox Live Theme and Alan Wake Avatar for Xbox Live
