Prematurely Released Book Celebrates Michigan NCAA Title Win

A book celebrating Michigan’s NCAA title victory has been made available for sale on Amazon. Blue Heaven pays tribute to the 2013 Wolverines team, and comes with the triumphant sub-heading:

“The A-Maize-ing Story of the Michigan Wolverines’ Return to Glory – and Their Second NCAA Title!”

The only problem? Um, Michigan lost and remain very much on one NCAA title.

This 128-page celebration book was published by the Detroit Free Press, who we certainly can’t fault for optimism, and prematurely listed on Amazon. It’s been yanked down now, but the Internet never forgets, meaning we have plenty of material to darkly chuckle at. Such as this blurb:

“This commemorative book on Michigan’s 2013 NCAA men’s basketball championship provides a visual account of the Wolverines’ road to glory. Through unique words and images from Michigan’s largest newspaper, the Detroit Free Press, this celebratory book takes readers from the season’s first games in November and on through the exciting 2012–2013 season, the Big Ten tournament, and the road to the Final Four in Atlanta.

“Including more than 100 color photographs and featuring stars Trey Burke, Tim Hardaway, Jr., and Glen Robinson III and head coach John Beilein, this keepsake book is an essential part of any fan’s collection.”

Ouch. It was actually possible to buy the book (priced $10.17) for a short time, but we’ve no idea whether any orders will be fulfilled. If so, some people may have acquired a tragicomic first edition.

Here’s the full book cover, and also the listing before Amazon pulled the plug:
