Sony Drops Hints About Their Own iPad Competitor

The Apple iPad is finally out in the open, which meant it was only a matter of time before more companies announced their competing devices. Now we’ve received word that Sony is dropping hints about their own tablet.

At a recent Tokyo conference Sony’s CFO began dropping hints that the company is looking into the creation of an iPad competitor.

Based on rumors, it will be connected to online services offered directly by Sony including music movies, eBooks and games. Although we’d most like to see connectivity to home entertainment equipment and a full operating system that doesn’t make us picture an oversized iPhone.

One thing is for certain, Sony understands PC’s (see the Vaio shown above) which could help them enter the market while pulling in current customers to their new tablet, then again it’s still only a thought, if the iPad blows up and sales set records, I’m sure we’ll see plenty of more tablet PCs in the near future.
