Psy To Unleash ‘Gangnam Style’ Follow-Up This Month

Psy is getting ready to unleash a follow-up to his hit song “Gangnam Style.”

The South Korean rapper will release the new single “Gentleman” along with a new dance in the very near future. Although he is teasing fans about the new song, he isn’t quite ready to unveil any details about his latest creation.

“The new song is extremely fun and … what I can tell you is the song title is ‘Gentleman,'” Psy explained during a television interview on Monday. “I can’t tell you about the dance but all Koreans know this dance — but (those in) other countries haven’t seen it.”

The rapper will introduce the world to his new song and accompanying dance at a concert scheduled for April 13. Although the new tune is currently called “Gentleman,” Psy explained that the song could undergo a few minor transformations before its debut.

Fans who will attend the upcoming show at Seoul’s World Cup Stadium have been instructed by the musician to wear white clothes to the event. The rapper recently released several photos of himself wearing a white spacesuit and a bridal grown as examples.

The rapper told MTV News last year that he intended to retire the “Gangnam Style” song and dance after New Year’s Eve.

Psy said of his desire to retire the tune:

“Being in Times Square on New Year’s Eve is already special — it’s the biggest stage in the universe — plus it’s my birthday, so, with all that, it may be the ending of ‘Gangnam Style.’ I mean, what better way to do it? It’s my biggest and most meaningful birthday.”

The South Korean rapper recently released an EP of “Gangnam Style” remixes that essentially served as a stop-gap between his worldwide hit and the upcoming single. More information about the new song will likely turn up after it debuts in Seoul later this month.
