Woman Sues Abortion Clinic After Giving Birth To ‘Miracle Baby’

An Ohio woman is suing an abortion clinic after giving birth to a “miracle baby.” Ariel Knights is accusing the clinic of risking her life as they were unsuccessful at aborting her child.

Knights made the decision to have an abortion when she was diagnosed with uterine didelphys. The genetic condition can weaken the uterus, risking the life of the mother and the unborn child.

Fearing for her health, and unwilling to risk the life of a child, Knights made an appointment with an abortion clinic in Akron. As reported by Capital Bay, the procedure was emotionally stressful for Knight, but she had no reason to think it was unsuccessful.

A few days after the procedure, Knights started feeling ill and consulted her family physician. During an examination, which included an ultrasound, the doctor discovered that the woman was still pregnant. Knight and her fiance were stunned.

Months later Knights gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Despite the concern about her uterus, she and her child both made it through the pregnancy without serious complications.

Despite the successful birth of the child she refers to as her “miracle baby,” Knight is suing the abortion clinic for malpractice. The complaint, filed in Summit County Common Pleas Court, accuses the clinic of negligence.

The Akron Women’s Medical Group has been named defendant in the case. They deny claims of negligence and further argue that the complaint is barred by the statute of limitations. As reported by Fox News, the clinic offered Knight another appointment, but she refused to go.

Knights is seeking damages of around $25,000 for pain, suffering, and emotional distress caused by the failed abortion.

Knight has stated that she does not like to consider what her life would have been like without her daughter. However, she is going forward with her lawsuit against the abortion clinic despite the birth of her “miracle baby.”
