‘Deus Ex: Human Defiance’ Announcement Coming This Week

Deus Ex: Human Revolution turned out to be a huge success for Square Enix and developer Eidos Montreal, so it’s to be expected that a sequel has to be revealed at some point. According to the Deus ExFacebook page, info on that is coming soon, possibly today.

And no, this isn’t an April Fools’ Day joke before you ask. We don’t joke about Deus Ex here. As for Square Enix, well.. hopefully not.

Unfortunately as of writing we don’t know anything about Deus Ex: Human Defiance; whether it’s a sequel, prequel, reboot, or what. It’s unlikely that we’ll hear a great deal this week, but you can be sure that we’ll be hearing more about it in the months ahead.

Seeing as how the series of tubes that make up the internet are known to be leaky, Deus Ex: Human Defiance‘s existence isn’t a surprise. Recently it was discovered that Square Enix filed a trademark for the title.

The company also recently registered a trademark for Deus Ex: The Fall, which could be tied to the Deus Ex film project – but considering that no one involved has said anything as of yet, that’s just speculation.

Things have been rather quiet on the film front as well. Last we heard about the project was February, when it was said that the Deus Ex film would perhaps be less of a full-on Deus Ex movie and more of a cyberpunk movie.
