Next Zelda game to be shown off in June

Nintendo plans to show off the keenly awaited next Zelda game at the E3 games convention, taking place June 15 – 17. Booyah!

Yes, even if the 3D Zelda games have been a bit samey as of late (I didn’t actually finish Twilight Princess, such was my boredom), Nintendo’s franchise is usually reliably excellent. The two Nintendo DS Zelda games that released since the last 3D title have whetted my appetite something fierce.

What do I want to see in the next Zelda game? Simple: the return of Midna, and Nintendo’s designers abandoning the increasingly staid x-number-of-dungeons formula that has appeared in the vast majority of games in the series. I’d say the first is likely, while the second … er … I’ll get back to you.
