Microsoft Has $6.66 Billion Q1, Windows 7 “Fastest Selling OS” Of All Time

The tech sector is alive and well coming into the start of 2010. First Apple revealed huge revenues and now Microsoft has posted $19.02 billion in revenue with a profit of $6.66 billion, up 14 percent from the same reporting period only one year ago.

Part of those earnings however came from “deferred revenue” a.k.a. pre-sales of Windows 7 before the Q1 period, however in any case it’s an impressive quarter for Microsoft who called Windows 7 the “Fastest selling OS in history.”

According to Microsoft their critically lauded system has sold 60 million licenses since it’s debut, a much more impressive number given the same time period of sales for Windows Vista.
