Lohan Appearing On Letterman Just Before She Leaves For Rehab

Lindsay Lohan has a date with David Letterman.

The actress is headed to a court-ordered 90-day rehab sentence in a few short weeks, but first Lohan has pledged to keep her commitment to appear with Letterman on the Late Show and give her side of the story.

Lohan recently entered pleas of no contest to charges stemming from traffic violations last year, and to avoid jail time the actress agreed to spend 90 days in a lockdown rehabilitation facility.

“This is it. You violate your probation, and we’re not going to have discussions of putting you back on probation,” Los Angeles Superior Judge James Dabney told Lindsay Lohan.

Lohan will also have to serve a total of 30 days of community labor and attend 18 months of psychological therapy, the judge ordered.

But first Lohan has a date with Letterman. The talk show host and notoriously tough interviewer will likely want to know about more than just Lohan’s latest projects, so audiences expect to hear her delve into the personal difficulties she has been facing.

Even as she’s vowed to straighten out her act, Lohan has been seen clubbing in Santa Monica and reportedly still drinking.

Aside from her numerous driving infractions, it appears that Lindsay Lohan has run into financial trouble. According to TMZ, Lohan didn’t pay taxes in 2009 or 2010, leaving a bill for of more than $230,000 for those years. She got some help with the tax problems when Charlie Sheen cut her a $100,000 check, but it appeared that Lohan was reaching for new sources of revenue wherever she could find them.

This week Lohan went to Brazil, where she earned about $100,000 to promote John John Denim. Lohan also did a guest spot on new friend Charlie Sheen’s cable show, Anger Management.

It appears that Lohan has a mentor of sorts in Sheen, and he could be someone she leans on once the rehab stint is over.

“I have a kinship with somebody [Lohan] who clearly needs a mentor, whether she wants one or not,” Charlie Sheen said of his new friend and Scary Movie 5 co-star. “She can continue to hang out with her dress shredding club buddies, or turn to me for some advice from a guy who’s been down the road as well as every other side trail on the journey.”

Lohan will appear on Letterman on April 9.
