‘Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag’ Gameplay Trailer Released [Video]

The first gameplay trailer for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag has arrived online.

The clip showcases a number of the many adventures players can embark on during their time with the title. Not only can you command a ship and engage in epic sea battles, gamers can also explore the depths of the ocean for buried treasure.

The Assassin’s Creed IV gameplay trailer also shows that the staples which made the franchise so popular are still present and accounted for. The clip features a number of stealth kills and epic roof-to-roof jumps that fans have come to expect from the series.

When the game finally hits retail shelves later this year, players will have plenty of editions to choose from.

In addition to Uplay exclusive “Black Chest Edition,” fans can also pick up the “Buccaneer Edition” and the “Skull Edition.” Each one comes with its only collection of goodies.

Ubisoft also announced a service entitled THE WATCH. The program, which intentionally spells its name with all capital letters, will be available to those who pre-order the game from certain retailers.

The service will essentially allow Black Flag fans to “go deeper into the ‘Assassin’s Creed’ universe, granting exclusive access to additional information, bonus content, rewards and the opportunity to take part in an exclusive quest designed specifically for VIP members.”

The company describes Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag as follows:

“[The game] tells the epic and gritty story of Edward Kenway, a Pirate trained by Assassins. In this gameplay World Premiere, set your eyes on some of the exotic cities and tropical jungles that were found within the Golden Age of Piracy. Stand tall and proud alongside legendary names such as Blackbeard or Calico Jack, and defy the rules to become the most feared pirate in the Caribbean.”

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will be available for Xbox 360, Wii U, PC, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4. The game will hit retail later this year. Are you looking forward to the next installment in the franchise?
