Transformers 4 plot details have trickled in, though there hasn’t been any confirmation from Michael Bay just yet on whether what you’re about to read is the real deal.
ScreenRant, citing a Michigan Film Office report on Wednesday, revealed, among other things, the unofficial synopsis of director Michael Bay’s latest live-action effort in the popular cartoon series.
Screenwriter Ehren Kruger (Transformers: Dark of the Moon) has been tapped for the writing chores for a second time in the series, and filming was reported to begin this summer in Chicago for a June 27, 2014 release.
However, it appeared on Wednesday that those plans may have changed. According to the Michigan Film Office release, filming has been moved up to the spring and will take place in Detroit.
It wasn’t clear whether filming would happen in both places or just one, though from the $20 million of incentives on a projected $81.9 million of in-state expenditures, this may be a Michigan-only affair contrary to what MovieWeb previously reported.
“It speaks volumes about all Michigan has to offer that Transformers is returning once again to our state,” said Margaret O’Riley, director of the MFO, in a press release. “This project will shine another bright spotlight on Michigan and provide tremendous opportunities for our cast, crew and support services.”
Transformers 4 is expected to bring 339 jobs to the state, the release added.
