Greg Kinnear Joins ‘Anchorman: The Legend Continues’ Cast

Greg Kinnear has joined that cast of Anchorman: The Legend Continues.

Kinnear, who has starred in the likes of As Good As It Gets and Little Miss Sunshine, is currently in Atlanta filming the comedy alongside Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Christina Applegate, and Paul Rudd. Josh Lawson, has also joined the film too.

Lawson starred alongside Ferrell in 2012’s The Candidate, and is an Australian actor who has also appeared in House Of Lies and Thank God You’re Here.

The sequel to Anchorman has already amassed several new stars, which has included Harrison Ford, Kristen Wiig, James Marsden, Dylan Baker, and John C. Reilly.

Adam McKay, the co-writer and director of the 2004 comedy, is reprising both of his roles for Anchorman: The Legend Continues. Little information about the film’s plot has been revealed, but the filmmaker did state that the narrative might feature a custody battle and bowling.

All that is known is that Wiig, who starred in Bridesmaids and Paul, will be playing Brick’s love interest, whilst earlier this month Star Wars’ Ford was spotted on set with Will Ferrell. 30 Rock’s Marsden is set to play the nemesis of Ferrell’s Ron Burgundy.

McKay has also noted that the film will now be set in New York rather than San Diego, stating, “San Diego is too close to Ron’s heart to go away, but we feel that New York City is the holy grail for all newsmen.”

The filmmaker also admitted the Carell’s Brick has become more erratic, adding, “Brick’s so far gone that you can’t have a relationship with him. It takes a special someone to get a rope snare around his heart. She is dangerous!”

Anchorman: The Legend Continues is due to be released on December 20, 2013. Are you excited for the sequel? What are you favorite lines from the original Anchorman?
