Tone Loc Collapses On Stage [Video]

Singer Tone Loc collapsed on stage this weekend while performing a show in Iowa.

Ton Loc, AKA Anthony T. Smith, was performing in downtown Des Moines on Saturday night at the Bridge Bash for St. Patrick’s day when he collapsed at the end of a song. The singer was attended to for several minutes on the stage before organizers eventually told the crowd that the show was over.

It’s unclear what caused Tone Loc to collapse and his current condition is not known at this time. UPI reports that he was not publicly listed as a patient at any nearby hospitals. His representative has not commented on the performer’s condition.

According to TMZ, this is not the first time that Loc has collapsed on stage. In 2009 the singer collapsed and had a seizure during a concert in Florida due to heat exhaustion. The singer collapsed again in 2012 for a similar reason.

Tone Loc is best known for a string of hits in the 1980s like the “Funky Cold Medina” and “Wild Thing” but he has also tried his hand in acting. The singer appeared in Ace Ventura, Heat, and King Of The Hill.

Here’s a video taken at the concert last night by the Des Moines Register.

And in case you don’t remember, here’s Tone Loc and the “Funky Cold Medina.”
